Trade number 1: Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints have been in an ongoing search for Drew Bree’s replacement. While Sean Payton’s departure was sudden and quite shocking, the Saints still believe they can compete within their division. A potential trade with the Seahawks will allow the Saints to acquire their new franchise quarterback. Back in 2017, the Saints were ready to pull the trigger on drafting QB Patrick Mahomes. Of course, that didn’t happen and this time around, they’ll be sure not to miss out again.

For the Seahawks, moving back in the draft and acquiring two first-round picks will give them four total picks in the top 41. In other words, they will be able to draft 4 day-one starters who will make an immediate impact. It is a no-brainer for the Seahawks as they can head in numerous different directions with picks 16 and 19. Here are a couple of names to look out for should this trade occur.

player. Iowa. C. Tyler Linderbaum. 19. 878. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Many Seahawk fans are still sick to their stomach when thinking about passing up on Creed Humphrey last year. Drafting Linderbaum at number 16 will serve as redemption and will land them their starting center for the next decade.

Trevor Penning out of Northern Iowa will enter the NFL ready to start at either tackle position. Rather than selecting Cross at 9, trading back to select Penning and have the 19th pick would be a big win.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LB. Utah. DevinLloyd. player. 15. 843

Despite claiming Cody Barton will be the MLB to replace Bobby Wagner, I can see Seattle selecting Lloyd with one of these picks. The tackle machine out of Utah is a physical stat sheet stuffer who can serve wonders next to Jordyn Brooks.

Washington. TrentMcDuffie. Pick Analysis. CB. 8. player. 818. Scouting Report

Playing at Washington certainly serves as a boost since we have seen the admiration between Pete Carroll and former Huskie, Sidney Jones. McDuffie is a physical corner who excels in man-to-man. Drafting him would fill a major hole on this roster.
