With the 40th pick, the Seahawks select Sam Williams (Edge) from Ole Miss.

The Seahawks have been adamant, they want a game wrecker on defense. They failed to achieve this in round 1 of this mock draft and through free agency. They added a very solid get in Uchenna Nwosu. However, that is not enough.

The Seahawks themselves said they need another Darrell Taylor type of pass rusher. A player who is explosive, twitchy, and bends around the corner with ease. A player with some nastiness to him.

Senior year stats

  • Tackles: 57
  • Tackles for a loss: 16
  • Sacks: 12.5
  • Forced fumbles: 4

Often, with edge rushers, the question isn’t what the ceiling is but can they reach it. After all, the edge is a position where athleticism is especially valued. After logging a crazy 4.46 40-yard dash at 261 pounds, it is safe to say, Williams has a game wrecker level of ceiling.

With the 41st pick, the Seahawks select Leo Chenal (LB) from the University of Wisconsin.

The defense needs to get more aggressive. They need dogs who will play with violence and hit people. They need players who play angry. They need athletes who exhibit no hesitation.

Leo Chenal is known for being one of the best ‘thumpers’ in college football. He lives to go hit people. A low-scoring game with the defense dominating the field is his favorite type of outing.

He can completely take over. He has the vision, football IQ, athleticism ( 99.9th percentile amongst linebackers), and aggressive attitude that the team needs. Last year against Perdue Chenal recorded 5.5 TFL and 3.5 sacks. That is just one game. A game-wrecker and a weapon.

This is a player that will go earlier than many people expect. He is a dynamic weapon that can be truly special. If the Seahawks nabbed both Williams and Chenal in round two, this would be one hell of a draft by itself.
