Mike McCready

I imagine most of you 12s have heard of a little band called Pearl Jam. Mike McCready happens to be their lead guitarist, a Seattle native, and a huge fan of his hometown team. Yep, you guessed it, he’s a huge fan of the Seahawks.

I should also note here that McCready isn’t just a football fan either. He is often seen at Mariners games too. Plus, there are all kinds of Pearl Jam merch you can buy that resembles SuperSonics stuff. Imagine how happy McCready will be when Seattle gets its NBA team back (hopefully soon!).

Of all the 1990s bands to come out of Seattle (and if you don’t know anything about the 1990s, let me just say there are a lot of bands that came out of Seattle then), Pearl Jam is the one that seems to have stayed the most Seattle-centric.

Like Macklemore, McCready has raised the 12s flag. I mean, of course, he has. He’s one-upped his rap counterpart in one area though. McCready opened the Seahawks home opener in 2017 with an absolutely blistering version of the Star-spangled Banner back in 2017. A few of the notes are still echoing in the stadium. Don’t believe me? Go ahead and listen.
