Way too early prediction of 2022 Seattle Seahawks record
Extra Games
New York Giants – Loss.
Call me crazy. The Giants added two potential stars in Evan Neal and Kayvon Thibodeaux, and I can totally see the Seahawks choking this game away. Brian Daboll is an offensive guru, and I don’t hate Daniel Jones the way others do.
Reminder: in 2020, Seattle lost to the Giants at home in a game that had Colt McCoy beating Russell Wilson and Wayne Gallman rushing for 135 yards. Seattle always has a game on the schedule that they should easily win and that they end up blowing. This year I have that game being against the Giants at home.
New York Jets – Win.
Here’s a game just like the one above that I don’t see Seattle having any trouble in winning. Sure, the Jets added a bunch of great talent in the first round of the draft, but they are the Jets. The standard there is still to lose a bunch of games each season, and until they either figure out that Zach Wilson is that dude or look for quarterback help elsewhere, they don’t project to win more than 6 games in a season.
I think the Seahawks will be able to take care of business at home against a Jets team they beat by almost 40 points in 2020. I can’t wait to watch the DJ Reed-DK Metcalf matchup.
Detroit Lions – Win.
The second-hardest game to predict for the Seahawks record. The Lions have a history of losing, but Dan Campbell has the potential to turn the culture around. I obviously loved their selection of Aidan Hutchinson at second overall. The trade up to draft Jameson Williams was a good move as well, adding to an underrated pass-catching corps containing DJ Chark and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
I don’t think Hutchinson and their additions on defense do enough in their first year to turn the unit into one that can shut down an offense with Metcalf, Lockett, Fant, Penny and the like. It will definitely be a showdown Motown, and I think the Seahawks can squeak out a win.
Final Seahawks Record Prediction: 7-10
