The Seattle Seahawks are reaming the team a bit, getting younger, faster, and, hopefully, better. But those changes mean some players needed to leave. Or should have left. More on one of those players in a bit.

Of course, not bringing veterans back means the team has to take a leap of faith in young guys. This probably means 2022 could be rough at times as youthful players need time to adjust to the speed of the NFL.

That said, some players will most likely not return for Seattle. The four players that follow, except one, needed a change of scenery this year.

Four Seattle Seahawks that should not be returning in 2022

Ethan Pocic

At the end of 2021, Pocic was pretty good actually. He finally seemed to have settled into knowing which alignments to call out and how to slow interior pass rushers. Pocic has always dealt with seemingly not being strong enough to hold his own against bull rushers. This is one reason he was moved from guard to center.

But the other issue with Pocic is he simply can’t be counted on to consistently be on the field. Availability is a talent but becomes more important with an offensive lineman because offensive lines need to build cohesion to be good. If a line is often missing the same player, it’s impossible to build that cohesion.

In 2021, Pocic missed 4 games and in 2019, he missed 12. Seattle wisely let Pocic walk this offseason and Pocic is now with the Cleveland Browns.
