Kyle Fuller

Kyle Fuller shouldn’t ever be a starting anything in the NFL. Maybe he is a nice guy off the field – I hope so – but on-the-field production is what he gets paid to do. In 2021, Fuller started at center for several games to start the season as Ethan Pocic missed weeks two through five after getting another injury. In Pocic’s place, Fuller was atrocious.

The worst part is that while Pocic isn’t consistently very good either, Fuller somehow found a way to be worse. Per Pro Football Focus, Fuller had a pass-blocking grade of 31.3. It’s one thing for a quarterback to have to worry about pressure from the outsides; That is almost expected as edge rushers get paid a lot of money to get sacks in the NFL.

But if quarterbacks are getting pressure directly in their face, that is much worse. At least with outside pressure, a quarterback has a second or more of time to make a decision. With interior pressure, there are more rushed throws and more quick ends of drives. This is what happened to Seattle last season.

But just when you thought it was safe for whoever the quarterback is for Seattle in 2022, the Seahawks made a mind-boggling decision to bring Fuller back for 2022 (at least currently). Fuller should be searching for another team right now.
