We don’t really know how good the Seahawks can be this year but what we do know is that these three rookies are good enough to start in Week 1.

In fact, Seattle might actually rely on its 2022 draft class to play earlier and more snaps than any other draft class in nearly a decade. Seattle has talent on the roster, sure, but they also have a lot of holes.

One thing we know for sure, however, is that at least in 2022, the Seahawks will not have a rookie quarterback starting in Week 1. That may come in 2023. But here are three rookies who could start immediately.

Seahawks left tackle Charles Cross

I will start with the most obvious one. Seattle needs a left tackle and Cross was taken at pick 9 overall to be just that and for a long time. There is always the chance that Seattle re-signs free agent Duane Brown and has Cross start on the right side, but why do that?

Cross needs to play early and on the left side because that will be his home for years to come. He needs to make mistakes, learn from them and become great. He has the physical ability to be that.

One aspect Cross has to prove he can do is run blocking, however. He showed in college while playing SEC monster pass rushers every week that he can pass block at a professional level already. But Seattle seems to want to run more in 2022 and Cross will need to immediately be good opening holes for the backs behind him.
