The dream team of owners if the Seahawks are put up for sale
By Lee Vowell
Marshawn Lynch and Kam Chancellor
No former player is likely able to buy the Seahawks outright but that doesn’t mean they can’t be part of the ownership group. A good example of this is how the NHL’s Seattle Kraken has gone about adding minority owners. In fact, Lynch is already a part-owner of the Kraken.
But let’s not just have former players buy in to the team. They should have a say in how the team is run, especially how it is put together. Both Chancellor and Lynch didn’t become successes in the league because they relied solely on their physical skills. Many players have great ability, and many of those players never play much in the NFL.
What set Lynch and Chancellor apart, just like Richard Sherman, is that they could see the gray areas when other players can only see black and white. Each team and each game has nuances that must be adjusted to. Likely, Lynch and Chancellor could tell the difference between a skilled player who is out to help himself versus one who will help the team overall.
Chancellor has tweeted out multiple times hinting at how he would like to join any ownership group that involves the Seahawks. And any ownership group that eventually buys the Seahawks would be dumb not to include Kam Chancellor and Marshawn Lynch.
