The Seattle Seahawks are still likely remaking their roster for 2022. Maybe Baker Mayfield does end up in Seattle? Or maybe the team still signs an impactful free agent.

But Seattle has some players on its roster that could be worth trading. (I want to make clear I am not all for these trades happening but if they do Seattle could turn them into positives.)

But who are some players who could be traded before training camp starts in July. Maybe the three that follow.

Three Seahawks who could be traded before the season starts

Guard Gabe Jackson

I know that the Seahawks are trying to rebuild their offensive line and their entire offense heading into 2022. Seattle might very well start two rookie tackles. Gabe Jackson is a guard and he isn’t a bad one. But he is a slighter older one – he will be 31 years old in Week 1 of the new season – and if Seattle, whether they want to admit it or not, is rebuilding, then why not trade Jackson for anything you can get for him.

The real issue is that Seattle kind of hurt themselves in paying Jackson as much as they are in 2022. Jackson will make $9.5 million and his dead cap is $12 million. Whoever the Seahawks can work out a deal with will really need a guard.

Still, Seattle only gave up a fifth-round choice to acquire Jackson in 2021 so if Seattle can get a fifth-round choice back in return, that’s fine. The Seahawks will give up salary, flip Damien Lewis back to the right side where he was really good in 2020 and insert Phil Haynes at guard on the left side.
