In your latest Seahawks news, there is slight unhappiness in the shire of Seattle. DK Metcalf has decided to hold out basically. Plus, another had his fingers fused.

It is the time of year that if there is any breaking news for the Seahawks or other NFL teams then likely one or two things has happened: 1) A player has signed a massive extension or free-agent deal or 2) something bad has happened.

For Seattle, something bad is happening currently because part 1 of that last sentence hasn’t happened.

Seahawks news for Thursday includes DK being a no-show

DK Metcalf is holding out of mandatory minicamp

Seattle’s great young receiver has a rookie deal that will end when 2022 is over. He wants an extension. And likely, the Seahawks want to give him an extension. But the reason Metcalf not showing up for minicamp is surprising is that Metcalf did show up to optional organized team activities this offseason.

Not showing for OTAs would have cost Metcalf nothing. But being unexcused for not appearing at minicamp is costing Metcalf $93,000 a day. He might be taking advice from his agent, Tory Dandy, and this is why Metcalf isn’t currently in camp but I bet the agent isn’t paying the $93,000 that Metcalf owes.

Either way, we should all be hoping that the Seahawks and Metcalf can come to a contract extension agreement soon and end this drama before the season begins.

Jamal Adams fixes fingers

Adams revealed this week that besides still rehabbing his injured shoulder for the second straight offseason, he also had two fingers on his left hand fused. The safety appears to have dislocated those two fingers many times over the past few seasons.

Next. Why might the Seahawks be creating cap space?. dark

Basically what this means is that Adams can’t bend the two fingers but also can’t dislocate them. It might make it harder for Adams to catch a football if faced with the possibility of an interception but Adams seems to have catching balls anyway.
