The Seahawks look contented with their quarterback duo of Geno Smith and Drew Lock going into the season, however, if it goes south in a hurry, here are some of the team’s options.

The Seattle Seahawks shocked the entire NFL landscape when the team decided to trade their long-time franchise quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. It will definitely be a different atmosphere in Seattle this season without Russ at the center.

By trading Russ, the Seahawks were able to use some of the draft capital in this year’s rookie draft to bolster some holes in the lineup, however, the team did not use any picks to get a quarterback.

Much to the dismay of most of the fans, Pete Carroll and the Seahawks management expressed their faith in newly acquired QB Drew Lock as their quarterback moving forward.

3 options at quarterback for the Seahawks should Geno Smith and Drew Lock fail in 2022

Adding to the concerns of all the fans, the team re-signed backup quarterback Geno Smith to be Drew Lock’s competition for the open quarterback position.  This is not throwing shade at Geno Smith’s talent, who replaced Russ admirably when the latter went down with a hand injury last season, but Geno hasn’t been a starter in so many years.

Maybe Geno is here to show Lock how the Seahawks do things and act as a mentor? Whether the Seahawks’ plan this year is to look closely at what they have with Lock or make this season a bridge year towards next year is anybody’s guess.

If this Geno/Drew tandem does not work, here are the Seahawks’ options for a quarterback.
