Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett

When we are talking about losers for both real football and fantasy football, the name of Tyler Lockett comes to mind. Not that Lockett is a loser as a person or as a player, but he will definitely take a big hit in his production with Russ gone. The connection between Lockett and Wilson is unquestioned throughout their time on the field, especially on those deep throws over the middle.

In the games last season when Russ didn’t play due to the finger injury (weeks 6-8), Lockett had a total of 23 targets, for 189 yards with no touchdowns. The bulk of those productions came in Week 8, wherein he was targeted 13 times and amassed 142 receiving yards. Even with Russ at center, you get spike weeks from Lockett wherein he can single-handedly win you your week, and some weeks where he doesn’t do anything much at all.

Definitely a boom/bust player but Tyler Lockett is currently ranked as wide receiver 37. He is being drafted behind big names like DeAndre Hopkins, who will serve a 6-game suspension at the start of the season, and Michael Thomas, who has not played football in 2 years!

If you want to go big-game hunting, go ahead and risk it with those aforementioned names, but I will rather take a stab at a player who I know will play and can help my fantasy team with some production right away to start the season.
