In Seahawks news for your Wednesday, owner Jody Allen came out with a statement that the team isn’t going to be sold anytime soon. Plus QB news!

Jody Allen, Chair of the Seahawks and Trustee of the Paul Allen Trust, released a statement Tuesday giving an update on the potential sale of the team (plus the Portland Trail Blazers).

Per the statement, any sale could potentially take 10-20 years to happen. Allen also said her long-term focus is building championship teams in Seattle and Portland. Allen also stated simply, “Neither of the teams is for sale and there are no sales discussions happening.”

Seahawks are not for sale (yet!) plus some news surrounding the quarterback situation

The 10-20 years is new. There have been several rumors that maybe the team would need to be sold as soon as 2025 so it appears any sale is a fluid situation and nothing is going to happen anytime soon.

Of course, any sale of the team also is likely to involve Lumen Field as well. One thing that could slow any sale is working out how the city of Seattle wants to structure its downtown. Plus, all the paperwork that goes with making the stadium sponsor happy as well. There are a lot of moving parts.

Drew Lock responds to the US Open

After one Seahawks fan set off a firestorm of reaction after stupidly tweeting that tennis wasn’t a sport which included the Twitter handle for the US Open responding and including a diss of Drew Lock, Lock took to Twitter on Monday to wish everyone a happy 4th of July. That tweet also named someone specific.

Next. Would Lamar Jackson be a long-term option for the Seahawks at QB?. dark

It’s good that Lock responded with humor. There are many people who would have said something out of anger. Basically, the whole situation was humorous and not serious and Lock understood that. Hopefully, he understands the Seahawks offense just as well this coming season.
