In Seattle Seahawks news for your Friday, Lumen Field is getting ridiculous and so is a contract for a fellow NFC West quarterback.

Before we get into Seahawks news, a couple of house-cleaning things. One is, how great is this Mariners season turning out to be? OK, maybe it will get worse again. But the team has missed a bunch of key players already and could be getting them back soon. Plus, you know, Juuuuuulio! (A lot of 12s are also Ms fans too, right?)

A second thing is that – and OK, this isn’t new news – training camp starts in less than a week! As always, Go Hawks!

Seahawks news: Yay Lumen Field and still boo the Cardinals!

Lumen Field is getting fancy!

Get your drinks now! Wait! You want more food options? Lumen Field will have them! First off, on the north end of the stadium, you will be able to find two new huge bars beginning this year. You like gin? Boom! Done. What about tequila? Also…boom! Done. Hendrick’s Gin Cityside Bar and Tequila Herradura Cityside Bar will be added along with 83 feet of drink rails that face the field. That’s awesome.

But beginning in 2022, the video boards will be bigger – more close-up shots of booing the Rams! – there will be some more room for pregame stuff and tech but if you didn’t already like your food options, just wait to see what Lumen Field now has. A district market in the south end of the stadium is going to allow you to check yourself out while also finding the specific food you want and need. Awesome!

The Cardinals sign an underperforming quarterback to a long-term deal

Arizona, after signing coach Kliff Kingsbury (who wouldn’t know a successful second half of a season if it hit him in the face) and whoever their general manager is to extensions this offseason, thought it wise to extend their quarterback as well on Thursday.

Kyler Murray agreed to a $230 million extension for five seasons beyond 2023 (the last year of Murray’s rookie deal) and through 2028. He will get paid $160 million guaranteed. This is fantastic news for Seahawks fans!

Next. 3 dream trades to make the 2023 Seahawks better. dark

Murray is just 2-3 against the Seahawks and has been sacked 13 times in those five games. He hasn’t been awful against Seattle but mainly just not good enough to win. Now the Seahawks get to face him for seven more years.
