Seahawks offensive line (9): Charles Cross, Damien Lewis, Austin Blythe, Gabe Jackson, Jake Curhan, Abe Lucas, Phil Haynes, Dakoda Shepley, Stone Forsythe

This group is likely boom or bust. There is a lot of youth, especially at the tackle spots, and Cross especially looks like he should be really good. So might Lucas. The issue is that only three teams since 1970 have started two rookies at tackle. Potentially, Lucas and Cross could hold down the spots for the next 10 years. But they likely will make a lot of mistakes in 2022.

But the rookies will have some leadership next to them on the line that could help with their growth. Next to Lucas should be Jackson. Jackson is a former All-Pro and an eight-year veteran who knows a thing or five about how to block. While Lewis doesn’t have eight years of his experience, he does have a couple and knows how to play the right side versus the left side and that should help Cross.

That said, I think in Week1 the starter at right tackle is Jake Curhan. Curhan is no slouch. While he does have deficiencies when it comes to pass block, he is a beast when opening holes for running backs. Seattle will likely run the ball more in 2022 and Curhan’s experience, even if limited, will help early in the season.

Blythe was a nice pick-up because he played for the Rams when Shane Waldron was a coach there and knows what Waldron needs. His knowledge of the alignments are going to help the overall unit.
