Seahawks running back

53-man roster: Rashaad Penny, Ken Walker III, DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer

Practice squad: Darwin Thompson

This group seems pretty easy and made even easier because Dallas and Homer were so good in the preseason. Dallas appeared that he could even earn a decent amount of reps in the rotation even if Walker and Penny are healthy. Dallas was fast and strong and proved again he could catch the ball too.

Homer isn’t as fast but he showed a shiftiness that we hadn’t seen from him very much before. He was also able to run through the arms of tacklers more than before too. Maybe this was because he was going against backups but either way Homer is valuable to have on the team as much for his outstanding skill on special teams.

Walker missed much of the preseason and also had hernia surgery. That said, Pete Carroll hinted after preseason game 3 that Walker has a real chance of being back for Week 1.

Penny is RB1. He sat out all of the preseason games but in the first two games it was because the Seahawks didn’t want to risk him to injury and not because he is currently hurt. If Penny is anywhere as close to as good as he was at the end of 2021, Seattle will have one of the best and deepest running back groups in the league.
