Seahawks offensive line

53-man roster: Charles Cross, Phil Haynes, Damien Lewis, Austin Blythe, Gabe Jackson, Abe Lucas, Jake Curhan, Kyle Fuller and Stone Forsythe

Practice squad: Dakoda Shepley

I have normally said up to this point that the starting group is set. Cross will be the starting left tackle while fellow rookie Abe Lucas will be the right tackle. Seattle will be the third team since 1970 to have two offensive line bookends that will be first-year players. But both deserve to start and both have looked pretty good in the preseason.

Austin Blythe will start at center and Gabe Jackson at right guard. But the question comes in at left guard. Phil Haynes will probably start the season as Damien Lewis was injured in the preseason and is fighting his way back.

But Haynes has also been very good. According to Pro Football Focus, Haynes was the second-highest graded player for Seattle in preseason games. (The first was actually Geno Smith.) So what happens when Lewis returns? Haynes could flip to the right side and take Jackson’s place.

I still can’t believe Kyle Fuller is on the team. I don’t know if that says Seattle has no depth at center or no good depth overall.
