The Seattle Seahawks 2022 roster is set. Here is who made the team and how Seattle’s decisions will affect the success of the season.

Even with the release of who is going to be on the Seahawks 53-man roster to start the season, there are a lot of question marks.

For instance, Justin Coleman was signed this offseason to be a good slot corner. But he was released, Ugo Amadi was traded and Marquise Blair was released too.

I guess the job goes to Coby Bryant so let’s hope he is very good as a rookie. Here is the rest of the roster.

Seattle Seahawks 53-man roster for 2022

Quarterback (2): Geno Smith, Drew Lock

Once again the Seahawks go with two quarterbacks to start the season. Let’s just hope Smith and Lock stay as healthy as Russell Wilson did for the most part.

Running back (4): Rashaad Penny, DeeJay Dallas, Travis Homer, Kenneth Walker III

Absolutely no surprises here.

Receiver (6): Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, Dee Eskridge, Marquise Goodwin, Penny Hart, Dareke Young

No Freddie Swain. He was cut. But he was awful this preseason. It will be interesting to see if the Seahawks try to sign Bo Melton to the practice squad.

Tight end (3): Will Dissly, Noah Fant, Colby Parkinson

Like the running backs, no surprises here. Now let’s just hope that the Seahawks find a way to use their talented tight ends, especially Fant and Dissly, better than the last two years.

Offensive Line (9): Charles Cross, Abraham Lucas, Jake Curhan, Stone Forsythe, Gabe Jackson, Damien Lewis, Phil Haynes, Austin Blythe, Kyle Fuller

The starters, if everyone was healthy, would likely be Cross, Lewis, Blythe, Jackson and Lucas. That’s a very solid starting five.

Defensive Line (7): Poona Ford, Al Woods, Bryan Mone, Myles Adams, Quinton Jefferson, Shelby Harris, L.J. Collier

Collier made it! Yay! Or maybe, why? The rest of the group should be good and I am excited to see what Adams will do this season.

Linebacker (8): Jordyn Brooks, Cody Barton, Nick Bellore, Darrell Taylor, Uchenna Nwosu, Boye Mafe, Alton Robinson, Joshua Onujiogu

A bunch of potentially good young edge rushers. Could be a boom-or-bust season with this group. I am glad Bellore is on the roster as he is great in the locker room and the team needs his leadership.

Cornerback (6): Coby Bryant, Artie Burns, Sidney Jones IV, Michael Jackson, Tariq Woolen, John Reid

We still don’t know who will be starting Week 1 which is scary. There is some talent in this group but they could also be terrible. I do like that Jackson made the team. He has been great in the preseason.

Safety (5): Quandre Diggs, Jamal Adams, Josh Jones, Ryan Neal, Joey Blount

I am still shocked that Marquise Blair was one of the players released. I wonder if it was his apparent reluctance to fix his tackling technique. Blount and Jones need to prove they can be decent when the real games begin. Neal, Adams and Diggs are a more-than-solid trio, however.

Specialists (3): P Michael Dickson, K Jason Myers, LS Tyler Ott

All no-brainers here and all good at their jobs. Special teams should be a strength of the Seahawks this season.
