Grading every position group on the Seahawks final 53-man roster
By Boade Rowe
Seahawks receivers
Wide receiver
Players on the roster: DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Dee Eskridge, Marquise Goodwin, Penny Hart, Dareke Young
Strengths: This may just be the fastest receiving core in the league top to bottom. Tyler Lockett made a name for himself as a young player with his speed and kick return prowess, he has now turned into one of the most reliable receivers in the league when targeted.
Follow that with DK Metcalf who is an absolute superstar in the league and one of the best athletes the NFL has to offer. The depth starts out with Marquise Goodwin (a former Olympic athlete) and Dee Eskridge who ran an impressive 4.38 40-yard dash. I think this is Seattle’s best offensive position group this year.
Weaknesses: Behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf the Seahawks don’t have much reliable production. Dee Eskridge and Marquise Goodwin will be relied upon heavily to be the #3 option, both have also had injury problems in the past due to their size and physical running.
Tight end
Players on the roster: Will Dissly, Noah Fant, Colby Parkinson
Strengths: Help in the run game should be reliable at the tight end spot for Seattle, Fant and Dissly have both also shown the ability to excel in the passing game at times. Noah Fant is a player who never really reached his full usage potential in Denver, that tune might change as the Seahawk’s coaching staff has expressed a desire to get him involved.
Weaknesses: Will Dissly and Noah Fant have had some injury problems in the past and Colby Parkinson is still unproven for the most part. Will Dissly has also seemed to be slowing down in his receiving production the past two years, however that has also seemingly resulted in Dissly staying on the field more.
