3 bold predictions for Seahawks versus Broncos Week 1
By Lee Vowell
Russell Wilson throws for 220 yards, 2 touchdowns and one interception
Wilson is likely going to have a very good season in 2022. He has a head coach in Nathanial Hackett who knows how to get quarterbacks to perform at an extremely high level while not turning the ball over either. Denver has very good receivers in Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton who are capable of doing a lot more than they have in their careers so far.
Sutton and Jeudy didn’t have a quarterback who could throw the ball to them consistently well and now they do with Wilson.
But while Wilson will make the Broncos offense a lot better, Week 1 will also be Wilson and the Denver offense’s first real game together. It is likely that they will still be working on the timing of throws and crisp routes to run against players not wearing a Denver uniform. Wilson will be solid against the Seahawks but would probably be better against Seattle if this game was in Week 10, for example.
Wilson will still be efficient in Week 1 and hit his share of incredible passes. He does this every game no matter what. But the Seahawks will get a first half interception by Tariq Woolen that will energize the defense and make 12s think the 2022 team will be better than expected. But it is a long season, of course.
