3 free agents Seahawks should sign to replace Jamal Adams

Former Seahawks safety Marquise Blair
This one is easy and also difficult. It’s telling that no team wanted Blair for their active roster after the Seahawks a bit surprisingly released him in the preseason. Blair is fast, gets hurt too much, can hit hard when he tackles and is a lot undisciplined. But can Blair probably play decently enough in the NFL? Yes, he can. In limited time as a safety and also as a slot corner, Blair hasn’t been terrible.
Plus, Blair’s likely natural position is at strong safety and not free safety. Blair has decent length in which to cover passes but his motor is such that he wants to punish ball carriers and also has the quickness to attack the quarterback on blitzes. Now, I am not overly smart but I am self-aware enough to realize there must be some reason the Seahawks released such a young player.
My concern is that there is something else going on where Blair isn’t taking to coaching very well and not changing the way he attacks opponents. Blair has had a few penalties for hits to the helmet whether it be in the preseason or in real games. This kind of thing could get lots of people hurt and isn’t a technique that is taught. Maybe Seattle simply doesn’t trust him.
Blair is currently on the Panthers practice squad and Seattle could sign him straight off the squad if they wanted. Since the Seahawks know Blair and Blair knows the Seahawks, adding Blair is a logical choice.
