While the Seahawks began their 2022 journey last Monday with a win over their former franchise QB, it is extremely likely that Seattle will be looking to draft a quarterback in next spring’s NFL draft.

Week 3 of the college football season is in the books. While there were a few upsets, the elite in college football continue to dominate.

After three weeks of watching these college QBs, we rank the upcoming 2023 QB class that will likely define the future success of the Seattle Seahawks franchise.

Top 10 quarterbacks the Seahawks should look to choose in the 2023 NFL draft

Number 10: Michael Penix Jr., Washington

Previous: BYU Jaden Hall

If Seattle is looking for a rookie QB, they may need to look no further than their own backyard. Michael Penix in three games has gone from possible backup to legitimate Heisman contender. Hosting the 11th-ranked Michigan State Spartans, Penix put the Dawgs back on the map in a 39-28 win. Penix threw for 397 yards and 4 touchdowns and was in complete control throughout the game, and now has a 10/1 TD to INT ratio so far this season.

NFL Comp: Ohio State version of Justin Fields

Number 9: KJ Jefferson, Arkansas

Jefferson and the Arkansas Razorbacks were pushed to the limit yesterday before finally finishing off the upset-minded Missouri State Bears 38-27. Jefferson did his part, finishing with over 400 total yards and three scores. The Razorbacks have a chance to have a magical season but will need to be better than they showed yesterday. So much will be asked of Jefferson over the next few weeks.

NFL Comp: Jacoby Brissett

Number 8: Tyler Van Dyke, Miami

Van Dyke has not had the greatest start to the season, yet continues to show solid NFL quarterback material. That opinion was highlighted in their 17-9 loss at Texas A&M. Van Dyke was missing his top passing target and has a group of inexperienced wide receivers that simply can’t get very open. He did the best he could and put the Canes in a position to score multiple times, but a bad special teams game doomed his squad. Van Dyke will be a better pro than a college player if surrounded by the right talent.

NFL Comp: A more mobile Mac Jones
