The 1-1 Seattle Seahawks play the 0-2 Atlanta Falcons in Week 3. Who will win? This is what our staff thinks will happen.

There used to be a time when the Seahawks were very good and playing a team like the 2022 version of the Falcons would likely have meant a sure victory. Heck, that was probably just two years ago.

But this offseason changed a lot for Seattle. And for Atlanta. Both long-term starting quarterbacks – Russell Wilson for Seattle and Matt Ryan for the Falcons – are now with other teams. In their places are players who have mostly been backups in the last several seasons.

The Seahawks have a young team that played well enough at home in Week 1 but fell apart in Week 2 on the road. Let’s hope that since Week 3’s game is back at Lumen Field, the young guys for Seattle will feed off the crowd and play better.

Seahawks vs. Falcons: Preview and staff predictions

If not, Atlanta is definitely capable of winning the game. The Falcons attempted a valiant comeback in Week 2 against the Rams but fell just short 31-27. But the Rams had issues moving the ball against the Falcons at times. Los Angeles finished with just 337 total yards and averaged just 2.5 yards a carry.

The Seahawks offense hasn’t scored in 6 quarters and looked quite lost in Week 2 against the 49ers. San Francisco has a great defense but Seattle still made them look even better. And Seattle could do the same to the Falcons; The Seahawks could make a good defense look great.

But let’s hope Seattle tries to throw more deep passes to DK Metcalf this week and that loosens up Rashaad Penny and company as well. To win in 2022, Seattle is going to have to run the ball well and they simply haven’t run the ball enough this year. Maybe that changes in Week 3.
