After a lowly loss against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3, the Seattle Seahawks needed to regroup and find a way to get back on track.

The opportunity to get back in the win column presented itself in Week 4 when the Seahawks traveled to Detroit to face the Lions. This is by no means saying that the Lions are a bad team, however, Detroit was missing key pieces of their offense due to injuries.

Luckily, the Seahawks were able to find a way to defeat the Lions by the skin of their teeth.

Three thoughts from the Seahawks victory over the Lions in Week 4

On paper, coming into the game, the Seahawks should be able to come out of Detroit victorious. As aforementioned, the Detroit Lions were missing running back D’Andre Swift, and wide receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and D.J. Chark due to injuries.

Even with a depleted Lions lineup, the Seahawks had to trade blow by blow to ensure a victory on the road.

It took every great play of the Seahawks offense, plus a Tariq Woolen pick-6, to be able to escape the Motor City with a win. It was a much-needed win after back-to-back weeks of defeats in the hands of NFC West rival 49ers and last week’s opponent, the Falcons.

This Seahawks win versus the Lions showed us that the team will be able to keep up in scoring against other teams.

The high scoring is a nice welcome, however, there are still lots to clean up with this relatively young team. Here are the three takeaways from the Seahawks win against the Lions in Week 4.
