3 bold predictions for Seahawks versus Raiders Week 12
By Lee Vowell
Prediction 2: DK Metcalf will have 170 yards receiving
It is time. DK Metcalf has had one game with more than 88 yards receiving in 2022. He was banged up in Week 7 versus the Chargers and suffered some kind of knee injury. Maybe he is more injured than we know and is fighting through the injury but it doesn’t really appear so. Metcalf’s production has been pretty consistent throughout the season so he isn’t falling off from Week 7.
It could be that Seattle’s offense is designed to have DK Metcalf have 100-yard games a lot. He will get some here and there but not consistently. The thing is Metcalf is physically capable of putting up 100-yard games in any game. And he will against the weak Raiders pass defense in Week 12.
Las Vegas isn’t awful against the run. They allow 4.4 yards per carry, 11th in the league. While they have allowed the 20th-most rushing yards per game, that is mostly because they have seen the 11th-most rushing attempts against them. No, the Raiders aren’t great against the run but they are better against the run than the pass.
The Raiders have the worst passer-rating-against in the NFL at 106.3. They only have 3 interceptions, 30th in the NFL. Las Vegas’s 27 passes defended is the worst in the league. And Las Vegas only has 13 sacks, also the worst in the NFL. (And 9 of those sacks are from Maxx Crosby.) Geno Smith will have time to throw and should target Metcalf a ton. He will and Metcalf will respond with his best game of the season.
