Notes from the Nest: Seahawks survive LA’s JV squad in Week 13
Russell Wilson watch and what lies ahead for the Seahawks
While the Seahawks found a way to win a game they should have lost, the Broncos continue to find new and horrible ways to lose. Their most recent embarrassing loss brought the Broncos to a wild 3-9, which would net the Seahawks the number 3 and number 36 picks in the NFL draft. With the Broncos still facing the Chiefs twice and the Chargers, it’s looking like a near lock for the Seahawks to end up with a top 5 pick.
If that pick falls into the top 3, then Seattle likely will be in position to draft one of the best defensive tackles or edge rushers, like Jalen Carter or Will Anderson Jr. If both of those guys go #1 and number 2, then Seattle would become the darling of the draft and would have every QB-needy team calling them up to get their guy. This could be the type of deal that nets the Seahawks some serious draft capital, as well as more bites at the apple at building up depth. What a fun opportunity that appears all but headed toward Seattle.
Big things are happening with the Seahawks right now. They have a chance to steal the NFC West, and while most fans are looking to next week’s Thursday night epic matchup, they need to be ready for the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are loaded on defense with young talent everywhere, and edge rusher Brian Burns has the same game-wrecking impact that we saw from Maxx Crosby. Led by underrated running back D’Onta Foreman, the Panthers are 4-2 when they run for over 100 yards. If Seattle doesn’t wall up, they may screw around and see themselves once again getting upset at home.
Hopefully, these issues get resolved, the dudes keep being dudes, and we can get excited about the potential that next Thursday night could bring. Go Hawks!
