Fighting for their season, the Seattle Seahawks found a way to continue their quest in trying to get to the postseason. They defeated the New York Jets  23-6 last Sunday. The Seahawks ring in the New Year with a dominating performance against the Jets who were also trying to get to the postseason dance in the AFC.

Losers of three in a row, Seattle came into Sunday in desperate need of a win to save their dwindling playoff hopes this season. The Seahawks needed every inch, every yard this game to come up on top against a Jets team also thirsty to get a chance to make it to the playoffs this season. It certainly was not a perfect game for the Seahawks but they were able to find answers on the field on both the offensive side and the defensive side of the ball.

With the win, the Seahawks will need to beat their NFC West division rival the LA Rams and hope that the Detroit Lions take care of business against their own NFC North division rival for Seattle to clinch a playoff spot. This is the card the Seahawks were dealt with as they could not take care of their own business in the past four weeks. All they can do now is to play their best game of the season next week and take care of things and win against the Rams.

No one likes to see their fate decided by other teams, but at least the Seahawks still have a fighting chance to make it to the playoffs this season. As the Seahawks prepare for Week 18 clash against the Rams, here are the 3 takeaways from their dominating Week 17 win against the Jets.
