6 perfect Day 2 targets for the Seahawks in the 2023 NFL draft
By Boade Rowe
Seahawks Day 2 pick: Round 3, Pick 83
Potential options: Linebacker Noah Sewell (Oregon) and receiver Dontayvion Wicks (Virginia)
Noah Sewell has been a tackling machine at the University of Oregon for the past two seasons. Sewell is the brother of Detroit Lions offensive tackle Penei Sewell. Standing 6’2″, Noah Sewell can read the run well while stacking and shedding blocks and consistently finishes tackles. Sewell lacks pass coverage and instincts, but in the right defensive scheme, Sewell can become a game-changer.
The Seahawks also still need to find a consistently solid third option at wide receiver. DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are good and we know that. But if Metcalf and Lockett got some help from a third receiver defenses had to fear, it will only make them better.
Wicks might fit the WR3 role well. He has good speed and decent size at 6’1″. He also would have looked a lot better in college had he had better quarterback play. In 2021, he had 57 catches for 1,203 yards and 9 touchdowns. But he took a step back due to his limited college offense in 2022 and wound up with 30 receptions for 430 yards and just 2 touchdowns.
