Seahawks should chase Connor McGovern

Connor McGovern has been the New York Jets center for the past three seasons. He also has been the most durable of the three centers listed here over the past four seasons. Compared to Pocic, who has missed 24 games, and Bradbury, who missed nine games the past four seasons, McGovern started all but two games in that same span. His ability to stay healthy makes him incredibly valuable in this free agent class.

However, McGovern is only slightly better than the average centers in the NFL finishing 16th in pass blocking and 13th in run blocking according to Pro Football Focus in each of the last two seasons. His durability is his main selling point, which is why he is expected to receive a contract of around two years for $24.5 million.

Should the Seahawks decide to draft a quarterback this year, McGovern would be a solid choice given his strength in zone-run blocking schemes. He also is a decent option because he would not expect to see a long contract since his previous contract was three years for $27 million. McGovern is another solid potential replacement for Austin Blythe given his durability and ability to stay consistently healthy. He provides the Seahawks with another free agent option at center.
