Seahawks need help at right tackle

Stone Forsythe has had to play far too much this season. The presumed third-string tackle has started for the last four games, and while he started off well, he has brought diminished returns in the last few weeks. In Week 4 versus the Detroit Lions, Forsythe gave up 12 total pressures. In Week 6, he allowed 10. That is not winning football.

The issue is that Abraham Lucas hasn't been healthy enough to be counted on in the last two seasons, and even when he returns, how long will he be able to keep playing? There seems to be little hope, with only a year left on his contract after the 2024 season, that he will be a long-term starter at right tackle.

George Fant was signed this offseason to be a fill-in for Lucas, but he got hurt in Week 2 and is currently on injured reserve. There is no known timeline for his return. This leaves Seattle stuck with Forsythe.

One trade option could be Trent Brown of the Cincinnati Bengals. He has been purely a right tackle in 2024, but in the previous two seasons, he was a left tackle. Still, for most of his career, he was a right tackle and a good one. He is 31 years old, and that might be getting a long in the proverbial tooth, but Seattle would only need Brown for this season. He is also only signed with the Cincinnati Bengals for one year.

Another option could be Dillon Radunz. Yes, he is an option at right guard as well, but for much of his career, he was a right tackle. His flexibility could be good if he does well enough for Seattle to sign him to an extension. Seattle would need to trade for him first, of course.
