Those Dallas Cowboys seem like a well-run organization, don't they? Owner/general manager Jerry Jones took over the team in the late 1980s and had some great years early on, but since then? Not so much. Dallas has not sniffed the Super Bowl in 30 years. That appears to have had some bearing on defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence signing with the Seattle Seahawks.
Lawrence wants to win a championship as he is now in his early 30s and doesn't have another decade to play in the NFL. He clearly thinks Seattle might have a chance sooner than the Cowboys because Lawrence said after signing with Seattle that he knew he was not going to win a Super Bowl in Dallas.
All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons of the Cowboys took umbrage with Lawrence's comments. Maybe he felt that his former teammate had turned traitor. Of course, Parsons also knows the NFL is a business, so one goes to where the money is while also hoping their new team can win at a high level.
Seahawks' DeMarcus Lawrence puts Cowboys' Micah Parsons at the kids table
Taking to X/Twitter while reposting a clip of Lawrence dismissing the Cowboys' championship potential, Parson's wrote, "This what rejection and envy look like! This some clown (expletive)!"
Lawrence was in no mood to read that. He responded, classicly, by saying, "Calling me a clown won’t change the fact that I told the truth. Maybe if you spent less time tweeting and more time winning, I wouldn’t have left."

Ouch. Parsons might have been mad and tweeted in anger (never a smart thing to do, kiddos), but Lawrence put Parsons in his place as if he were a petulant child at the dinner table. Plus, let's be fair, while it is debatable whether the Seahawks can win a Super Bowl this year, we can assume the Cowboys will find some way to sabotage their season. That's the Jerry Jones and Cowboys way.
There could be another Cowboys versus Seahawks rivalry budding as well, at least temporarily. The two teams are rumored to be battling for the rights to sign wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Some have speculated that Kupp could head to Dallas after being released by the Los Angeles Rams. ESPN's Adam Schefter disputed that Dallas has a real chance to land the receiver, though.
It could be that the Seahawks get another player Dallas liked and Kupp signs with Seattle quite soon. Maybe he also feels as if Seattle is in a better position to win a championship.
