3 disappointing WR trade targets the Seahawks could settle for

Just say maybe.

The Seattle Seahawks are once again focusing most of their passing attack on wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Things were a bit better against the Denver Broncos in Week 6, but then the offense overall was worse. Maybe more JSN is needed.

Or maybe Smith-Njigba just needs better help. Cooper Kupp is good, but old for an NFL receiver and no longer very fast. Rashid Shaheed is fast, but not a good route runner. Tory Horton is doing something wrong because the team doesn't like to throw him a lot of passes.

To take some of the attention away from Smith-Njigba, general manager John Schneider might need to trade for a potentially impactful player. Three potential targets follow, but they all come with caveats.

Wide receiver trade targets for the Seattle Seahawks to help Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Jerry Jeudy - Cleveland Browns

Jeudy isn't a touchdown machine, and he has declined in the past two seasons. Maybe he just wants out of Cleveland, though. He is only 27 years old, so there shouldn't be an age-related reason for his decline.

In the past two seasons, he has only caught about half his targets, and he isn't overly explosive. In seven years, he has only 17 TDs. Still, he might be the exact kind of player who needs a change of scenery and can excel once he gets that. He should obviously be motivated to make the jump from the Browns to the Seahawks.

Brian Thomas Jr. - Jacksonville Jaguars

A bigger receiver who is still only 24 years old, Thomas had a very good rookie season and hasn't been as capable since. He might not truly be available in a trade, but he's been a part of trade rumors for a very long time, and normally, where there is smoke, there is also, well...you get it.

Through five games this season, the receiver has only nine catches and 105 yards receiving. It is also odd that he had 10 touchdown receptions in his first season, but only two the next year (2025). He obviously has talent and could be a valuable threat across from Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Jauan Jennings - Minnesota Vikings

Jennings is a divisive player and not good at all in his first season with Minnesota, but the Seattle Seahawks might have an added reason for trading for him. For one, Jennings has worked with offensive coordinator Brian Fleury when both were with the San Francisco 49ers.

Another reason is that Jennings is a volatile player who needs to play with a chip on his shoulder. He would be a useful tool in the second matchup against San Francisco, as he would be inspired to play well against his former team.

Jennings is also a very good blocker and would be a great fit in Fleury's scheme. Instead of an explosive wideout, Jennings could be exactly the kind of receiver that Seattle needs.
