DK Metcalf receives insane Seahawks garb at recent WWE event

Metcalf has not yet won a championship with Seattle but he received a belt anyway earlier this week.

A day after the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New York Jets in Week 13, wide receiver DK Metcalf received an unexpected reward. The gift had little to do with his play on the field, however. Instead, Metcalf once again proved he was well-liked and he is quite respectful. Still, the award he received was probably not anything he thought he would ever receive.

What happened was there was a WWE Raw event in Everett, Washington, a city just north of Seattle, on Monday and Metcalf was in attendance. At the end of the event when the crowd began to leave, Metcalf was asked to come backstage. Once there, Triple H (otherwise known as Hunter Hearst Helmsley) walked up to Metcalf with the gift of an NFL Championship-style belt that was all Seattle Seahawks covered.

For those who seemingly doubt that Metcalf must be a respectful person based on his, at times, explosive temper on the field, the video of the interaction between the receiver and Triple H might change some minds. Metcalf responds to Triple H several times by saying, "Yes, sir," and Metcalf seems humbled to be in the situation.

WWE's Triple H delivers a grand gift to Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf

Sure, the receiver would most certainly rather have an NFL Super Bowl ring, but he also understands he represents the Seahawks off and on the field. If he were to be unappreciative of the gift or act as if he is deserved the belt, the moment would have even more memorable, but likely in a negative way. Metcalf proves once again that he is not all about his image and simply treats people the way he feels they should be.

On the field, Metcalf has been a bit more banged up this year than in previous seasons. After missing just one game in the first five years of his career, he missed back-to-back games earlier this season. He also appeared to injure his ankle or leg during Week 13 but was able to come back into the game. He also might have slid to WR2 in the Seahawks' wide receiver hierarchy. Jaxon Smith-Njigba might have passed him to be WR1.

Metcalf still has 50 catches for 763 yards, but only three receiving touchdowns. His yards per game of 76.3 is still the second-highest of his career. Even though JSN has 20 more catches, he only has 66 more receiving yards than Metcalf. DK Metcalf makes the other receivers around him better because he scares teams with his explosiveness and he needs to be a Seahawk for years to come.
