Ernest Jones can't help but shade Puka Nacua after Seahawks' Super Bowl win

And the Rams receiver deserved it.

Puka Nacua likes to talk trash. The Los Angeles Rams wide receiver does so on the field and off it, and he simply doesn't mind being himself. His self-awareness is, at times, lacking, but he is who he is. Just enough, in fact, for Seattle Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones to put Nacua firmly in his place.

For some odd reason, during Seattle's Super Bowl LX victory against the New England Patriots, the Rams wideout tweeted "Sam Darnold" with a laughing face. One can assume that Nacua was poking fun at something that Seattle's quarterback had done during the game, but Darnold wasn't playing poorly.

The QB didn't turn the ball over, got off to a bit of a slow start in terms of completion percentage, but the Pats were getting good pressure on him, and New England's secondary was playing well. Seattle still had a lead, and Darnold was playing under control.

What also made the Rams wide receiver's tweet strange is that Sam Darnold was only one game removed from lighting up the LA defense. The Seahawks were in the Super Bowl because they defeated Los Angeles in the NFC Championship game. The QB was 25 of 36 passing for 346 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.

Ernest Jones wasn't about to let Nacua's slander of Darnold go unnoticed, though. In response, the Seahawks' defensive leader offered a brutal response: "Ain’t you at home. Goofy ass."

Whether Puka Nacua was home or not is unknown, but what is certain is the fact that he certainly wasn't playing in the Super Bowl. One key reason is that his team was unable to beat the Seattle Seahawks in their final two meetings with Mike Macdonald's team this season.

The saddest part is that Nacua appears to be a young athlete who simply wants to be noticed by talking trash, but does so without much self-awareness or class. Other plays might have been upset that a divisional rival was becoming World Champions, but at least offered some slight praise or ignored the situation.

Instead, Nacua appears not to have enough integrity to give his rivals any semblance of respect. Instead, he will likely have to learn that by continuously being the little brother to Ernest Jones and the Seahawks' defense. The Rams and Seattle will stay a great rivalry, however, and beating Puka Nacua will stay all the sweeter if he keeps chirping his nonsense.
