The Seattle Seahawks still have one more game to play, but the season is basically over. Seattle has no path to the playoffs even if they beat the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18. This means exit interviews can be planned as well as what roster and coaching staff changes to make.
Of course, the team will have to decide on which free agents to try to keep as well. Currently, the Seahawks have negative cap room in 2025 so the team will likely be forced to create more free agents than those listed below. That might not happen until March, though.
Few of the free agents for the Seahawks are must re-signs. Possibly only one. That is good news for a team with no cap room.
Full list of the Seattle Seahawks pending free agents for the 2025 offseason
Unrestricted free agents
- Tight end Pharaoh Brown
- Cornerback Tre Brown
- Offensive tackle Stone Forsythe
- Edge rusher Trevis Gipson
- Defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins
- Linebacker Ernest Jones IV
- Defensive tackle Jarran Reed
- Left guard Laken Tomlinson
- Safety K'Von Wallace
The good part is that while the Seahawks have very little money to spend this offseason, the team also does not have many UFAs that are must-re-signs. Reed has been terrific for the last two seasons, but he is also 32 years old.
Perhaps Jones is the only other player that Seattle has to really think about bringing back. The defense was certainly improved after he was traded to Seattle midway through the season. The question is how much money he might want to get in his first time hitting free agency.
Restricted free agents
- Kick and punt returner Jaelon Darden
- Cornerback Josh Jobe
As with the other groups on this list, an RFA will be brought back only if the Seahawks truly want the player to return. Jobe was a nice find, so it would be good to have him return. Seattle should draft a kick/punt returner in the 2025 draft and replace Darden.
Street free agents
- Offensive tackle Jason Peters
- Linebacker Jamie Sheriff
Street free agents are those players who did not play the previous season or were released by their former team. Sheriff might only come back to the practice squad in 2025. One has to wonder why the 42-year-old Peters keeps taking up his Sundays by watching football from the sidelines.
Exclusive-rights free agents
- Running back George Holani
- Edge rusher Josh Onujiogu
- Linebacker Josh Ross
- Tight end Brady Russell
- Wide receiver Cody White
There is no competition from other teams wanting these players if the Seahawks want to keep them. None made much of an impact in 2024, though. Holani should come back to the practice squad. Russell and White were mostly inactive in the second half of the season.
