First Seahawks injury report for Week 11 has good Abraham Lucas news

Seattle's initial injury report for Week 11 is out and there is more good news than bad.

Maybe the Seattle Seahawks season isn't completely done after all. One of the horrible issues with the team this year was the offensive line was a complete mess. Well, fine. Maybe not all the O-line, but especially the right side.

Don't worry, 12s. Right guard will continue to be a problem. The team will run Anthony Bradford out every week, it seems, in an effort to tank the season (maybe?). Playing a player who leads his respective position in penalties and sacks in the entire NFL without a real thought of changing the situation is sports-criminal.

Right tackle has been a problem all season as well. The Seahawks have cycled through several players at the position without ever having the presumed starter. Abraham Lucas had offseason knee surgery and has yet to return even though the team hoped he would be back by training camp...and then the preseason...and so on.

Seattle Seahawks initial injury report for Week 11 versus the San Francisco 49ers

Great news, though! Lucas has now been activated from injured reserve and is able to play as soon as Week 11. Will he? The team has high hopes. He has been able to practice for a few weeks now but couldn't play as he was still on the IR.

Another key player who has missed at least the last couple of games is wide receiver DK Metcalf. He suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain in Week 7 and missed the games against the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams. He wouldn't have made a difference against the Bills as Seattle was simply wiped from the face of the earth, but maybe Seattle beats the Rams with a healthy Metcalf. Maybe.

Metcalf looks ready to play against the 49ers in Week 11, thankfully. This means that, for the 49ers game, Seattle will be as close to full strength as possible, and Seattle could make its final stand in the 2024 season with as many healthy troops as possible. A loss would mean Seattle falls to 0-3 in the NFC West and would next face the division-leading Arizona Cardinals.

A victory, however, could change the fortunes of the season. Maybe head coach Mike Macdonald proves he does know how to fix things. Maybe Seattle is better in the second half of the season than they were in five of their last six games. That's the hope anyway, and the initial injury report for Week 11 gives 12s hope.
