Former Packers star Greg Jennings made one Seahawks claim Rams fans won't like

A combination of elements tells the story.

A conversation that will almost certainly carry on into the 2026-27 NFL season circles around the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams: which is the better team? Who's the favorite? But a more pointed question now, after the week the Rams just had, is: are the Seahawks still the team to beat?

Who last won the Super Bowl? That alone should answer that final question. Seattle will be defending their championship, and there is every reason to believe it can do it again; they're that great a team. That said, given the elite pieces the Rams have added to their roster this offseason, did those acquisitions push the Seahawks off the top?

It's safe to say that, as it stands, the Seahawks and Rams will be jostling for the No. 1 spot in "the team to beat" category from here on out, because there is now plenty of ammo in the Rams' cartridge that helps proclaim them as the top team. However, one NFL analyst believes there is no other team other than the Seahawks that is the greatest threat to the Rams, if Seattle isn't the team to beat.

FS1's Greg Jennings points to key pieces of the Seattle Seahawks that make them the LA Rams' biggest threats

Former Green Bay Packers star and 2011 Super Bowl champion Greg Jennings knows a thing or two about what it takes to win a ring. He also knows what it takes to attempt to repeat the following season, and what it's like falling short of that goal.

Going into a season as the reigning champions and looking to repeat is the journey the Seahawks will embark on in September, and many hold them as the favorites to reach the Super Bowl and win it again. The Rams, however, have made some shocking noise this offseason, likely prompting many to consider switching their "favorites" picks.

With the defensive additions of Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson, and now Myles Garrett, the Rams not only hauled in some very big names (not to mention that McDuffie and Watson have plenty of Super Bowl experience), but also, with those big names, the expectations and pressure got a whole lot heavier.

According to Jennings, although he admits that, given these recent roster developments in Los Angeles, the Rams are now the favorites, he believes certain key pieces on the Seahawks can't be overlooked and tabs the Seahawks as the Rams' biggest threat in the NFC over the field.

"It's gonna be the Seattle Seahawks," Jennings said on an episode of FS1's First Things First. "A team that can pressure you without having to bring extra men, meaning a blitz, that is the team that can give you the biggest issue, and that has been the Seattle Seahawks. When you talk about their head coach being of a defensive mind, he counters whatever you do if you're Sean McVay very well.

"If they get the same type of play or better out of Sam Darnold offensively and they can have the Offensive Player of the Year in a receiver in JSN [Jaxon Smith-Njigba], a full year of Rashid Shaheed...I don't expect them to take a step back, a huge step back, if they do, but this team is still ready to be the favorites in the NFC."

Jennings would go on to say that he doesn't think the Seahawks are the favorites because of all the names on the Rams, but he is adamant about the threat level the Seahawks present. There's no doubt that both matchups next season between these two division rivals will be must-watch television.

That said, don't be surprised if it's the Rams who come out on top, and not the Seahawks. Then again, no one should be surprised if it goes the other way, either.
