The gamble with the Seattle Seahawks signing wide receiver Cooper Kupp this past offseason wasn't that Kupp would be unproductive when he played, but how much he would be available for games. Between 2022 and 2024, Kupp missed a total of 18 games.
So far in 2025, he has missed just one game, but the concerning part was that he missed that game after the team's bye week. Suddenly getting less healthy with a week off was strange. Perhaps Seattle simply wanted to sneak in another week of rest at the start of the second half of the season.
The wide receiver, however, was listed on the injury report ahead of Week 10, too. He is dealing with hamstring and heel issues, and he missed all of Wednesday's practice, which was just a walk-through. Thankfully, he trended better as the week went on. He was limited on Thursday and a full participant on Friday.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp likely to play against the Cardinals in Week 10
The Seahawks officially list Kupp as questionable for the Arizona Cardinals game, but the hope is that he will play after being able to fully practice on Friday. He might need to because Seattle will definitely be without two wide receivers and likely a third.
Jake Bobo (calf) and Dareke Young (quadricep) are out. Tory Horton is doubtful with groin and shin problems. At least, the team traded for explosive wide receiver Rashid Shaheed during the week, and Shaheed will play and might need to play quite a lot.
Kupp isn't seeing as many targets per game as he did with his former team, the Los Angeles Rams, but he is having a better season than some recent ones. His 12.2 yards per catch is nearly two yards better than last season. His catch rate of 72.7 is his best since 2022. Kupp's 8.9 yards per target is his best since 2021.
He is also an exceptional blocker who augments the Seattle Seahawks' inconsistent run game. The team is better when Kupp is in the game.
While there may be no official decision on Cooper Kupp's availability for Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals until an hour and a half before kickoff, the likelihood is that he does play. Seattle certainly needs him to.
Update: Kupp is not among Seattle's inactives for Week 10.
