The Seattle Seahawks learned something about themselves in Week 14's victory over the Arizona Cardinals. That is the team doesn't have to have Kenneth Walker III to run the ball effectively. At least, that was the case for one week when Walker's backup, Zach Charbonnet, had nearly 200 total yards of offense.

There are some 12s who may even think that Charbonnet is a better fit in offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb's offense. The reason is that while Walker often hesitates before hitting the line of scrimmage while he searches for the best hole to run through in hopes of an explosive play, Charbonnet runs more directly at the line of scrimmage.

He might get stuffed a couple of times, but he can also run over defenders in a way Walker cannot. That might be needed again in Week 15 against a good Green Bay Packers defense.

Latest injury update on Kenneth Walker III ahead of Seahawks versus Packers

Update: According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Walker will not play versus the Packers as his calf injury has been the most troublesome issue. The hope is that missing Week 15 will allow Walker to play in Seattle's final three games.

Walker missed Week 14 with calf and ankle issues, and he did not practice during the week ahead of the Green Bay game. On Seattle's final injury report, he was listed as doubtful. That he did not practice heavily implies that he wouldn't play against the Packers.

During his Friday afternoon press conference, head coach Mike Macdonald stopped his sentence after first saying "doesn't look..." about Walker. The safe assumption would be that Macdonald was going to say that the running back doesn't look as if he will be able to play. The coach continued by saying Walker had made some progress and that anything could happen in the two days before the game. Sadly, it didn't.
