It took Kenneth Walker less than a day to celebrate leaving the Seahawks

So long, and thank you.

The Seattle Seahawks will lose several free agents from the team's Super Bowl-winning roster. One of those will definitely be Kenneth Walker, as he has reportedly agreed to terms with the Kansas City Chiefs. The news is not overly surprising, but still sad.

The Chiefs needed a running back to help Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the offense. Walker will bring explosiveness, the knowledge of how to help create a winning culture, and stability at a position that KC has lacked recently.

But did Walker have to be so happy about it? Well, of course. Immediate terms were not known, but whatever they are, Walker is going to get a huge raise. He will likely be around $12 million a season or more. Seattle wasn't going to offer that much, though his leaving leaves the team with a major problem.

Taking to social media. Walker posted a photo of himself wearing the No. 9 jersey for Kansas City and captioned it with "Chiefs Kingdom." This came about 30 minutes into the running back being able to agree to terms with another team. Monday was the unofficial start of 2026 free agency, and he can officially sign on Wednesday.

To be fair, 12s being happy for Kenneth Walker is the way it should be. He spent four seasons with the team and won a title. He wasn't overly outspoken about anything (the anti-Marshawn Lynch), but he was productive.

Without him, however, the team could be missing its top two running backs from the past two seasons. Walker signed elsewhere, and Zach Charbonnet might be out in the first part of next season after tearing his ACL in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Finding Walker's replacement sooner rather than later is a must.

Kenneth Walker was clearly one of the top free agents on the market, however. The Seahawks have others, too, including edge rusher Boye Mafe, cornerback Riq Woolen, and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed. Hopefully, at least one can be re-signed. Keeping as much of the title-winning roster together is a huge need.
