Jamal Adams left the Seattle Seahawks after the 2023 season and never had a chance to be welcomed back. He was part of one of the worst trades general manager John Schneider ever made, and the defensive back never stayed healthy. Adams did make some connections during his time in the Pacific Northwest, though.
One of those must have been with Nolan Teasley, too. Teasley has now been hired by the Minnesota Vikings to be that team's new general manager, but worked with Seattle from 2013 until this offseason as a scout, as director of pro personnel, and as Schneider's assistant GM.
He clearly did a great job, as another team is willing to give him a promotion, but what former players might say about him speaks volumes about his ability to treat everyone fairly. Adams' recent post on social media proves that.
Former Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams' words speak volumes about Nolan Teasley
Adams made a simple response to NFL insider Adam Schefter's tweet about Teasley's move to the NFC North. The former Seahawks safety wrote, "Congratulations bro!!" followed by an emoji of a goat. The words were nice, of course, but the DB calling Teasley a GOAT is even higher praise.
The implication, of course, is that players like Teasley want to work for and with him. That might be a problem for the Seattle Seahawks in the future. If a likely impactful free agent is weighing whether to sign with Seattle or the Vikings and the player has heard good things about Nolan Teasley, that could tip the scales a bit.
Not that John Schneider isn't liked, obviously. The Seattle Seahawks are known as an organization that treats all of its employees well. The issue is that Washington state recently passed a new income tax of 9.9 percent on those who have a net income of more than $1 million that will go into effect in 2028.
Congratulations bro!! 🐐 https://t.co/WtspMH5Ux9

Minnesota also has a tax on those who earn more than $1 million, but it is far less.
This could mean that a player who might still have been willing to sign with Seattle despite the tax due to the personal respect they felt from Schneider's organization could land with the Vikings because Teasley would have learned how to do business from Schneider. Feeling a lot of respect while also paying less state income tax could be a reason Minnesota steals some players from Seattle.
And the respect is clearly real from Nolan Teasley. For Jamal Adams to comment on the assistant GM's move from Seattle to general manager of the Vikings confirms how much respect players and former players have for the new Minnesota GM.
