As 12s know, the Seattle Seahawks being in the Pacific Northwest means they get hidden a bit. The team forces pundits to discuss them because they are so good, but imagine if the team played home games in New York or some other giant media hub. It would be non-stop talk about the greatness of head coach Mike Macdonald's team.
Instead, people respect the Seahawks, but don't discuss them as much as the Dallas Cowboys, for instance. That's fine. Seattle will just keep winning games.
But media personality Kay Adams is done with that approach. Speaking on a recent episode of her podcast, Adams was clearly put off by oddsmakers and the national media in terms of once again overlooking the Seahawks for an upcoming season, one in which they hope to repeat as Super Bowl winners.
Kay Adams speaks for Seattle Seahawks everywhere in her recent comments about disrespect
Adams said, "Look at FanDuel Sportsbook. Not only are (the Seahawks) not the favorites to repeat at Super Bowl, they're not only the favorites to win their own division...I think we are sleeping on (Seattle)...I think we turned the page quicker than ever, and I do think that's a little bit on (Seattle) because they're not out there like 'we won the Super Bowl; remember the Titans' kind of vibes...Champions barely ever get to run it back to this degree, and if we've learned anything about that sicko Mike Macdonald, rest assured this is a top to bottom, turning the page, being humble (approach).
All 12s are likely nodding their heads at what Kay Adams said. She's also not wrong. Even if the 2026 season doesn't reach the same levels as the 2025 one for Seattle, assuming the Los Angeles Rams are the better team is unfair. Maybe LA is better than last season, but Seattle did win two of three meetings against Sean McVay's team, and the Seahawks return 20 of 22 starters.
Moreover, many of the moves made by general manager John Schneider this offseason might not be sexy, but they are likely to improve the roster both next season and well beyond. Offensive lineman (and fifth-round draft pick this year) Beau Stephens could immediately turn into an upgrade at right guard, for instance.
Plus, while the team extended wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and re-signed Rashid Shaheed, the healthy return of Tory Horton will give an already good receiving group more explosiveness.
The Seattle Seahawks might not stop at just one title, as Kay Adams suggests. The coaching staff is elite, the roster obviously is, and it's also relatively young. The next decade could be quite special in the PNW and for 12s everywhere.
