The Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl champions, and veteran running back Kenneth Walker III is a big reason why. Walker rushed the ball 27 times for 135 yards, and added two receptions for 26 yards, leading Seattle to a 29-13 victory, and earning Super Bowl MVP. The running back also earned himself something else: a lot of money.

The Super Bowl MVP put an exclamation on a contract year for Walker, so it’s now time for him to get paid. There’s a fear from Seahawks fans that the running back could be lured away from Seattle with a massive contract elsewhere, but NFL reporter Greg Auman doesn’t think fans should worry about that.

In a recent FOX Sports piece, ranking the top 100 free agents and naming potential fits, Auman ranked Walker No. 6 and predicted that he re-signs with Seattle.

Seahawks are predicted to re-sign Kenneth Walker after Super Bowl MVP performance

Auman explained that Walker was already likely to remain in Seattle, but Zach Charbonnet’s torn ACL makes that even more likely. It could just be a matter of finances, and Auman points out that the Seahawks are in really good standing to take care of business this offseason.

"The Seahawks are a Super Bowl team still somehow ranked in the top five in available cap space for 2026, so it's hard to imagine them not paying to bring [Kenneth Walker] back as a central part of their offense moving forward."

Seattle is currently projected to have a little over $73 million in cap space, so that’s more than enough to re-sign Walker and make any other necessary moves to keep the team at the top of the league. It’d be wise for the Seahawks to get their running back’s deal done before he’s even allowed to speak with other teams.

While sharing carries with Charbonnet, Walker rushed for 1,027 yards and five touchdowns this season. He also caught 31 passes for 282 yards. In the playoffs, with Charbonnet out, he took things to another level, carrying the ball 65 times for 313 yards and four touchdowns, while adding nine receptions for 104 yards in three postseason games. All things considered, re-signing Walker is a no-brainer decision for the Seahawks.
