Mike Macdonald's look of confusion after Seahawks score speaks for all 12s

It was about time.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald has had somewhat of a mixed start to his career with the team. The team is 8-6 and has had winning streaks of three and four games, but it also has some brutal losses, such as Week 5 to the terrible New York Giants. Macdonald has looked like a genius during the win streaks and has been seemingly outcoached in other games.

Such was the case on Sunday when the Green Bay Packers dominated Seattle 30-13. The game seemed over in the first half, and when quarterback Geno Smith was injured and forced to leave the game in the third quarter if Macdonald could have thrown the proverbial towel in, he might have. The coach mentioned after the game that he felt he and his coaching staff were out-schemed by Green Bay.

Still, Seattle has a chance to make the playoffs and it is a fairly clear path. The team simply needs to win its remaining three games. That would include, however, beating the 12-2 Minnesota Vikings in Week 16 as well as the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18. Neither of those will be anything close to easy.

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald as stunned as the rest of us by Seattle's offense doing something well

But Macdonald finally got a bit of love (or, at least, interest) from the internet after he made an unusual face after Seattle finally scored a touchdown against the Packers. Running back Zach Charbonnet jaunted in from 20 yards out, and instead of looking overjoyed, Macdonald appeared almost...confused.

Maybe he was. Most 12s could have been. Seattle's offense has been a mess over the last half of the season, expect for Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals, and had done nothing against the Packers. By the time the game ended, the Seahawks still only had 208 total yards.

There were several posts about people reacting to Macdonald's reaction to the touchdown. Perhaps one of the best was one of being stunned.

12s surely would like to stop being so surprised when the Seahawks offense consistently does well, though. The fact is fans just have not seen that consistency in weeks. Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has very good players at the skill positions, but the offensive line holds the unit back. A great OC could overcome a lot of that with good play-calling, though.
