The Seattle Seahawks have played great football to begin the season. While they dropped their opener to the San Francisco 49ers on a game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes to play, they have bounced back in a major way.

Seattle picked up back-to-back blowout victories over the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints before beating the Arizona Cardinals 23-20 on a game-winning field goal as time expired on Thursday Night Football.

They have been elite on both sides of the ball as they have scored 27.8 points per game and allowed just 16.8 ppg, ranking fifth in both scoring offense and scoring defense.

Seattle Seahawks receive praise from Super Bowl XLV champion

They remain the only team in the NFL to rank in the top five in both categories. While there are many who remain unconvinced about Mike Macdonald's squad, the Seahawks received lofty praise from a former Super Bowl-winning head coach ahead of their third win.

Seattle has proved their detractors wrong in the early stages of the season as they have jumped out to a 3-1 start by playing great football on both sides of the ball. Mike McCarthy took notice of their play and praised the team ahead of Thursday's game.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, the former Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys head coach said:

"I see a different mindset in the way they're playing up front. I really like the way they're playing both offensive and defensive line... They are definitely getting the big play production from their perimeter so very good football team. Beating Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, obviously, an excellent win, an excellent road win."

Despite winning ten games last season and getting off to another strong start, the Seahawks have not gotten much national love. That will certainly change if the team continues to win games -- particularly if they are able to knock off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who many expect to reach the postseason once again, in Week 5.

As McCarthy noted ahead of Thursday's clash with the Cardinals, Seattle continued to play well on both sides of the line. Their defensive line was able to erupt for a season-high six sacks, matching their total from the previous three games combined.

Meanwhile, their offensive line helped anchor a rushing attack that finished with a season-high 155 yards and 4.4 yards per carry. If the Seahawks continue to play at such an elite level, they should find themselves back in the postseason for the first time since 2022.
