The Seattle Seahawks dominated the Los Angeles Chargers in a game that was never as close as the final score showed. This one was pretty much over and out of reach at halftime, though the referees kept bailing Justin Herbert out.

Regardless, Mike Macdonald's team is now sitting at 3-1 after four weeks. While it's not the best in the division, they continue to look like the dominant, well-rounded outfit that won the Super Bowl last season.

That's why, upon taking a hard look at how every other team in the NFC West has fared through the first month of the campaign, it's impossible to deny they're still the top dog. Even with a loss, they should be considered the team to beat until proven otherwise.

NFC West power rankings: The Seattle Seahawks are still the team to beat

4. Arizona Cardinals (1-3)

As expected, the Arizona Cardinals are now riding a three-game losing streak. The only surprise here is that they actually won a game, though crazy things always happen in the first game of the regular season.

With no clear answer at quarterback, not much talent on either side of the ball, and a first-year head coach, the Cardinals were always expected to be bottom-feeders. They're still a draft or two away from being a borderline playoff team.

3. Los Angeles Rams (2-2)

Talking heads anointed the Los Angeles Rams as the best team in football history before they took a single snap. They have already dropped two games, and they needed some late-game heroics and a signature Jalen Hurts/Nick Sirianni meltdown to avoid falling to 1-3.

Matthew Stafford hasn't been as sharp this season, and the Rams' earth-shattering defense looks brittle and slow. They will always be a force to be reckoned with, but they're clearly not the superteam some people claimed they would be. Talk is cheap, and they must show what's what on the field.

2. San Francisco 49ers (4-0)

The San Francisco 49ers are undefeated, and they're a great team by every measure. That said, their first win came against a team that had just traveled across the world hours before it. Then, they took down two of the worst teams in football.

That win over the Denver Broncos should also be taken with a grain of salt, as they were missing their top two corners. Also, injuries continue to hurt Kyle Shanahan's team, so it feels like it's just a matter of time before they implode like they always do.

1. Seattle Seahawks (3-1)

The defending champions haven't been perfect. There's still plenty to clean up on offense, with Sam Darnold making some questionable decisions and the running game not taking off yet. But even so, they keep finding ways to win and dominate.

That Week 3 loss was a fluke, a trap game. How many more times will the Seahawks fumble the ball deep into their own territory and then throw a pick-six late in the game? And even in that tough situation, they still came pretty close to winning that game.

Mike Macdonald and Aden Durde have put together the best, most physical, and dynamic defense in football. Nick Emmanwori is back to full strength, even lining up at edge defender, while Devon Witherspoon breaks up everything in the secondary.

Leonard Williams, Ernest Jones IV, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Byron Murphy II comprise the deadliest, scariest defensive front in the game. We might be biased, but nothing any other NFC West team has done so far would make us think that they're even close to the Seahawks right now.
