Maybe only the Seattle Seahawks and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba thought that JSN could have the kind of season he is having in 2025. He isn't just among the most productive players at his position, but he is hundreds of yards better than the next closest player. He is incredible.
Can he keep up the current pace? Why not? With each new week, it seems like Smith-Njigba updates the record he broke earlier this season with having at least 75 yards receiving in each game. No other player had started the first 10 games of any season doing that. JSN has now done it 11 times.
At this point, opponents have to know that quarterback Sam Darnold is going to throw the ball to Smith-Njigba a lot every game, but teams still have not stopped the combination. One team will eventually, but Seattle has already faced great defenses such as the Houston Texans, and Houston failed.
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio has high praise for Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba
The wide receiver is very unlikely to get enough votes to be named NFL MVP, as the award will probably go once again to a quarterback, but even getting a vote or two would be logical. But beyond MVP and First-Team All-Pro, NFL insider Mike Florio has an even stronger opinion of where Jaxon Smith-Njigba's career may take him.
During a five-word-or-less segment on NBC's Pro Football Talk about wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Florio said simply, "JSN to the HOF."
Of course, the statement seems rather hyperbolic at this point. Smith-Njigba is only three seasons into his career, and his first season was wasted by some brutal use of the receiver by former offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. In other words, JSN has been great for two seasons, and Seattle needs him to be great for much longer.

At his current pace through Week 12, Smith-Njigba will break the 2,000-yard single-season barrier, becoming the first receiver ever to do so. He has already broken the Seahawks' single-season receiving yards mark, and the team still has six games to play.
To make the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a player needs to be seen to be among the best at his position for many seasons. Jaxon Smith-Njigba could be just beginning to reach that level. One thing is certain: If JSN has a Hall of Fame career, no Seattle Seahawks fan is going to complain.
