The Seattle Seahawks finished 10-7 in 2024, missing the postseason for the second consecutive season. While much of their starting defense - and defensive coordinator Aden Durde - will return, the offense will have an entirely new look this season.

The first change came soon after the season as the Seahawks named Klint Kubiak their offensive coordinator, replacing Ryan Grubb. Seattle then opted to part ways with quarterback Geno Smith and wide receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

They brought in Sam Darnold and Cooper Kupp, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba set to step into an even bigger role. Meanwhile, the Seahawks looked to improve their offensive line after finishing tied for the third-most sacks allowed, 54, and the fifth-fewest rushing yards per game, 95.7, in the league.

NFL insider praises Seahawks as training camp winds down

Seattle used their first-round pick to select offensive lineman Grey Zabel. The new-look roster, which has looked much better offensively, recently received praise from an NFL insider.

There have been mixed expectations placed on the Seahawks throughout the offseason. While some pundits believe they will struggle, others have suggested that they could win the NFC West for the first time since 2020.

Daniel Jeremiah recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show, where he praised Seattle:

"I really like what I've seen... Kubiak, that system, fits Sam Darnold perfectly. Sam looks confident and comfortable. You can move him around. They upgraded that offensive line. Grey Zabel has probably been the best rookie in the preseason, if you just want to look at how they've played and what they've done. To put him along the interior of that offensive line, he can get up to the second level. He's going to help them have a firm pocket in pass protection. He's a really good player. I love what they've done and they've got a lot of good young pieces on defense -- they're fast. So, I'm high on them. I think they've got a good shot to win that division."

Jeremiah added that he believes Zach Charbonnet should serve as the lead running back over Kenneth Walker III; however, he expects both players to receive plenty of touches. It is hard not to be impressed with what Seattle has done in the preseason, particularly with the work of their offensive line.

After struggling tremendously a season ago, they have averaged 219.0 rushing yards per game while allowing just one sack. If they are able to continue to play at a high level once the regular season begins, the Seahawks could be a true contender in the NFC.
