The NFC West has really turned into the best division in football this year, as three teams already have double-digit wins, and these three teams could all end up finishing with at least 12 wins. Last year, the Seattle Seahawks were oddly the only double-digit win team in the NFL that didn't make the playoffs.
Now having already eclipsed their win total from 2024, Seattle is very much alive to win the division this year, and the NFC West winner might end up being the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC playoffs, so the Seahawks' Week 16 showdown against the LA Rams is massively important.
Let's see how the NFC West stacks up in our latest divisional power rankings.
Seahawks on the brink of taking NFC West back in updated power rankings after Week 15
4. Arizona Cardinals (3-11)
The Arizona Cardinals were once 2-0 on the season but have since gone 1-11 over their past 12 games. Arizona was 6-4 at one point in 2024, so the groundwork was there for this team to emerge as something frisky in 2025. There could be some wholesale changes, and with how far ahead every other team in the division is, the Cards could be multiple years away from competing in the NFC West.
3. San Francisco 49ers (10-4)
The San Francisco 49ers are one of the most 'good' teams in the NFL. They don't have what it takes to make a deep playoff run this year, but they're a well-coached team with a 10-4 record. Sure, they've had a soft schedule this year, but you have to give this team a ton of credit, as they are close to doubling their win total from 2024 and are still very much alive in the NFC West.
Seattle and Los Angeles can't disregard San Francisco from being a threat in the final couple of weeks.
2. Seattle Seahawks (11-3)
The Seattle Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 16 in what could be the game of the year. A win by the Rams would all but end the Seahawks' chances at the NFC West crown, but a win would thrust Seattle into that top spot for the time being.
This game could be the deciding factor in which team earns the No. 1 seed and bye in the NFC and which team is likely the No. 5 seed and traveling for the first round of the playoffs. Sam Darnold is the biggest factor here, as he has not been good in big games in 2024 and even against the Rams a few weeks ago.
Seattle has the personnel to match up well with LA, but this game could come down to the QB play.
1. Los Angeles Rams (11-3)
The Los Angeles Rams are arguably the best team in the NFL and might have the MVP of the league in Matthew Stafford. LA beat Seattle a few weeks ago in Los Angeles, but they might have to play this next game without Davante Adams.
The Rams have totally remade this roster since winning the Super Bowl back in 2021, as this team is loaded with young talent. The winner of this massive game might end up being the no. 1 overall seed for the NFC playoffs.
