It's not even training camp but Seahawks look ready to send one veteran packing

One foot out the door?

Heading into their latest installment of training camp, the Seattle Seahawks have several position battles which will keep fans entertained for the remainder of the summer.

But, could one position battle already be partly lost by a specific player? Veteran cornerback Tyler Hall was signed to the team's practice squad last season and then, in January, he was re-signed to another deal to return.

However, the Seahawks' moves after re-signing Hall have shown that he is far from being guaranteed a roster spot. And, if we take a look at the hypothetical depth chart, there is reason to believe he may be at a disadvantage as camp begins.

Tyler Hall might not make it through Seahawks training camp onto the final roster

After the Seahawks signed Hall back in January, they would go on to sign a pair of free agents in Shemar Jean-Charles and then, most recently, Shaq Griffin. Bringing back a familiar face like Griffin, at this point, likely means the Seahawks would be comfortable giving him a roster spot -- and they should be.

Hall also has to compete with a 2024 draft pick, Nehemiah Pritchett.

Zy Alexander and Isas Waxter were brought in as undrafted free agents, and although they are a low-risk type of move, undrafted rookies can be as unpredictable as any player.

Of course, you have Riq Woolen, Devon Witherspoon and Josh Jobe who aren't going anywhere. Depending on how many cornerbacks the Seahawks wind up keeping in the end, Hall may or may not have a shot.

Let's say Woolen, Witherspoon, Jobe, Pritchett and Griffin are all going to be on this roster. Jean-Charles figures to be no. 6.

And, even then, we haven't even mentioned Damarion Williams who is in the same boat as Hall; an earlier signing before the larger portion of free agency began.

Hall, when it's all said and done, might be best suited as a practice squad player. He hardly has a chance to stick on that final 53.
